Fully Digital Implant Planning
Before any treatment, our Implantologist who is experienced with a special interest in Implants will complete a thorough assessment of your jaw and teeth to determine the level and health of bone present.
If there is not ample or healthy bone available then a bone graft may be necessary before dental implants can be placed.
Dental Implants process
Under normal local anaesthetic numbing, a titanium screw (implant) is placed directly into the jawbone. As Titanium doesn’t interact with our cells, our body won’t see it as something foreign. Instead of the normal bodily response to something foreign, the bone instead ‘fuses’ to the titanium implant.
Once this occurs and the implant is securely in place, then an artificial tooth or teeth can be placed onto the implant, providing a very strong and solid structure. This can then be fitted to a denture, bridge or crown, depending on the number of missing teeth.
It is still possible to get gum disease around an implant and so it is important to have a good cleaning routine.

What Are All-on-4 Dental Implants
All-on-4 dental implants are an advanced treatment used to replace an entire arch of missing or failing teeth using just four dental implants placed in the jawbone. These implants act as strong anchors that support a fixed bridge of replacement teeth, restoring both function and appearance.
Unlike traditional dentures, which rest on the gums and can sometimes feel loose or uncomfortable, All-on-4 implants provide a stable, fixed solution that looks and functions much like natural teeth.
How the All-on-4 Technique Works
The treatment involves placing four implants strategically in the jawbone:
- Two implants are placed vertically in the front of the jaw, where the bone is typically strongest.
- Two implants are placed at an angle towards the back of the jaw to maximise support and avoid important anatomical structures such as nerves or sinuses.
Once the implants are placed, a temporary fixed bridge is usually attached on the same day, allowing patients to leave the clinic with a functional set of teeth. After a healing period of a few months, during which the implants integrate with the jawbone, a custom-made final bridge is fitted.
Why All-on-4 Is Different from Traditional Implants
Traditional full-mouth implant treatments sometimes require six to eight implants per arch, and may involve bone grafting if bone volume is limited.
All-on-4 offers several advantages:
- Fewer implants required
- Often no bone grafting needed
- Same-day teeth in many cases
- Fixed teeth that do not need to be removed
- Faster treatment time
This approach makes full-arch rehabilitation more accessible and predictable for many patients.
